- you are running minimserver and Bubble...and it works? it's not fair......
- anyway i will stay with MPD for the moment....but i need to test various options
MinimServer is not trivial to set up and I am a number of years of pain ahead of you. In a previous setup, I had no choice but to learn how to do it. Also, Mpd could not be used in that previous setup.
Ok, back to your original post..
If you want to try MinimServer in your setup, you need to get it going first. When you start MinimServer, you can access it via the WebLink. For the first time, you also need to accept the terms and conditions. SnakeOil cannot automate this. You can now access the webpage to set up the music folder. This is the only setup available in the free version. The paid version allows multiple folders, different ways to display the music meta data, enable convolution etc. Mpd does not have this ability to configure meta data.
It is easier to use Minimwatch to configure but it needs JRE (Java) on the host to run.
You also need a Upnp renderer running on SnakeOil. The easiest is Upmpdcli. However, in the SnakeOil version you are running, you have to start it manually. In the latest version, SnakeOil can start it for you, but you need to configure it (and I have not updated Wiki).
It does get complicated unfortunately.
BubbleUpnp is better than Mpdroid. But using the App as the reason to pursue MinimServer will require a lot of effort. And I am not sure you will gain anything ???
Lastly, I prefer Mpd SQ...
