LMS skin
#1
Mostly I use MPD as my Snakeoil player.... occasionally I need to use LMS for compatibility with other players....
Recently I discovered the modern Material Skin plugin  for LMS and have been enjoying it on both desktop and mobile...

Installation is straightforward and the layout is great.... enjoy or not (the desktop layout is quite different from the mobile link below, and the default LMS desktop)

This is fantastic! I didn't even know about this. Thanks for this.

Question is, should I set this as the default theme for the next Snakeoil ISO? Guess I'd have to look through that theme's licensing terms first.

As it is installable from server settings as a third party plugin I would be inclined to leave the default LMS skin but include a How-to and screenshots for users to install themselves...and a guide for Mobile devices.
There is a bit of overhead in the initial loading but otherwise quite snappy in use...
Try it for a while...there are some things that need a bit of figuring or are not as desktop friendly as it is primarily setup for mobile use... ymmv

Hi there, I have the latest Snakeoil 1.2.1 and trying t install the plug Material. It appears in the list of plugins, i check the box and hit apply. It never sucessfully installs. either it appears up the top of the list as update required, then i follow the update process and nothing happens or it just returns to being an plug in that is not installed.

Is there a known issue, or what log should i be checking, can i install this plug in manually?

many thanks

Can't test this right now as I am at work.

After installation, try and restart LMS (You can do this from the Snakeoil WebApp), or just reboot the computer. Does it work then?

Thanks. Works after ssh and sudo reboot.
Does the GUI reboot just restart snakeoil and not the OS?

Mine is raspian.

thanks again.

Reboot will reboot the OS, restart will restart Snakeoil service... It should work in Raspbian but I havn't tested that in a while. Will need to double check that eventually when I get everything sorted.

But anyhoo glad u are using the new material skin Smile
