Hello, fellow SnakeOil Audiophilians.
New user here, and extremely happy to find this great piece of Software. I've been wanting to dedicate a pc just for music, and this is indeed a great solution, but still have a few doubts. Probably you can help me.
>To start, once i installed this OS on a ssd disk, may i put it on another hardware (other laptop, for example)? I've been doing that with Ubuntu, and is actually a feature i enjoy, as "my computer is my hard disk" - If something goes wrong with the hardware, i just swap the disk to another one, and continue having the "same computer" - Useful when you only buy second hand laptops for personal usage
>I have an amplifier and speakers on another house that has no internet or network at all. How can i use computer with SnakeOil directly? (without the need of a second pc to access it)
Is there a way for me to connect my smartphone directly by wifi or Bluetooth to the computer with SnakeOil and use MALP or MPDroid to access music that there is in the SSD? Or i always need a network in order to make it play? That would be just to hear some music sometimes, so i didn't want to create a network there...
Maybe that has something to do with "Music server" / "Music Client" ? I didn't understood that yet... Well, to be fair, i'm just "scratching the surface" of SnakeOil - There's a "whole world" to learn about it
>I have an Asus eeebox1030 and that would make a great music server / pc with SnakeOil , but that sucker have UEFI bios... Already looked in forum for some information about it, and i guess there may be a way to make it work? I couldn't - will have to try again. And i'll keep reading the forum.
Thanks in advance for your help.
