You should be trying 1.2 Gear Isolation Alpha3. I am now live on 20.04 and it sounds at least as good as 16.04.  Not going back, unless I find a big problem.

And what's more.. It's still very much untweaked.. Changing the kernels, disable some services, etc will add that little bit of extra refinements, that will be mind blowing on very very good systems.

If only we know why some distros, and kernels sound better/worse than others.. Hopefully we can manage to deciphering this secret somehow.

Did try to access it (The 1.2 Gear Isolation Alpha3) , but i can't. At first i thought it was because i was not logged in on forum, but it continues not to give access. How can i do to try it?
I'm happy with current performance, but would like to try putting an eeebox i have here on Snake Oil service (and i can't with current version i have)

Alpha was restricted. Please wait till 1.2 official release, hopefully this week...
