SO installer for 22.04 installer is coming very soon. Snakeoil 1.2.6 Beta 7 (snakeoil-os.net)
And maybe you can use Ubuntu Studio instead of the ordinary Ubuntu. Ubuntu Studio – A free and open operating system for creative people.

Ok, thanks. Unfortunately I don't have the priveleges to access the Beta 7 link you provided (might be because I'm a new user in the Forum?)

I did actually try to upgrade my Lubuntu to Ubuntu Studio via the installer on their site and it seemed to work, but it still states:

For the new installer and firmware, afaik basically it is working. Yet AK may want some more polish.
The current stable installer and firmware works perfectly with Ubuntu & UbuntuStudio 20.04.1 LTS.

The question, more so for AK, is whether Ubuntu Studio should now be the recommendation going forward? Is there any downside for Studio, maybe bigger footprint, less support???

Your Cyclictest results show that, even with a low latency kernel, it performs well. Is the low latency kernel good enough for most people?

Being a layman of IT, I'd leave this for you guys to find out.

To be honest I still prefer the RT kernel. But it could well be the power of suggestion (placebo).

In reality the best option would be Ubuntu Server with custom kernel. This is small/cheap/fast/lean. Studio is an interim because it offers a low latency kernel which should in theory sound better than the server kernel provided by the server ISO.

Which ISO will be moot once I have the kernel builder done, and also add a UI to allow audiophiles to turn on/off things on bootup. Question is when will I get those ready. Rolleyes

Been waking up at 5-6am, and stopping at 10-11pm... Surprising I've not suffering any burn out yet.

+1. We all appreciate your efforts @agent_kith , but health and well-being comes first. Hope you get over these long work hours soon. No rush on the kernel builder, I'm still loving snakeoil already as it is.
