Thinclient T520 has a great impact

I am on 1.1.0 and listening on lms as server only, my music folders are on a pendrive 44.1 and 24/192.

I switch between the windows pc serving the Squeezebox Classic and the T520. What a difference!

My speakers and amplifier love the Snakeoil source and show their love whether I am listening to Trondheim Solisten play Mozart, or Queen "A Night at the Opera."

I am surprised there has not been any new users. I can't say it's easy as every piece of hardware and networking offers potential challenges, but the the support I have received here has been amazing. Thanks to Bromf and Agent Kith, particularly AK for your genius in music tech.

ATM we're still relying on word of mouth to spread the word. But at the end of the day audiophiles are a weird/irrational bunch - most will not go near anything with the name of "Snakeoil".

To be honest I could have make this easy, create something that will work straight away out of the box. It's about balancing sound quality and 'specialisation' vs 'generalisation'. A generalised solution will work on more computers, a specialised one less so. So far I don't think there is a way to make a 'generalised' distro sound amazing. To work around this, hopefully the new kernel/ISO builder will work.  I've yet to begin work on this though .

At the moment, the journey isn't going to be easy, but the rewards are hopefully well worth it. The modern world is moving at an unbelievable pace - music streaming services like tidal and spotify only feeds on that. The world is now focused solely about consumption, less about appreciation, nothing at all with respects to exploration.

Snakeoil is a project one can learn to slow down, explore and appreciate some things. With Snakeoil, a person can explore every facet on how tweaks can affect music. I really enjoy the moments where I managed to extract that extra bit of detail from a tweak, or suddenly make that emotional connection on a piece of music that never meant anything to me before.

Thank you for your patience in persisting this through. You are exactly the audiophile the Snakeoil project is looking for.

TK you've nailed it right there... recently I have seen posts where the user wanted it all, now, and 12 hours was too too late.

Those of us that support you on your journey understand that ....
A) we are not you and you are you.. the creator and coder that enables us all to enjoy...
B) your day is your day... you have other calls on your time...(a real job !!) and Snakeoil is your Joy and Community support....when the real world spares some little time for you and your endeavors then we all benefit....

C) anything we can do to support and assist we should....
