Using normal MPD to get this. it will convert DSD -> PCM automatically. For now just use the stock MPD provided by snakeoil. If you're not hearing any music, then it's a snakeoil issue and we'll troubleshoot from there.

I know that Mpd converts DSD automatically to PCM, but not sure if there are any parameters to tweak.

I have many SACDs. I used to fret about using DSD capable gear but no longer. I found that using room correction software provided a much bigger jump in sound quality than using playing native DSD. It is not possible to do room correction on native DSD. Am using Mpd with convolution for stereo music and MinimServer and Dirac Live on my receiver for multi channel music.

Boy. you are way ahead of me!! I hope I can pick your mind for this topic. I wouldn't mind DSD converting to high quality PCM.

Can you share you tips with me?  Your mpd.conf for example, etc.

Thanks!
I am using the standard SnakeOil Mpd config file.  I do not know whether this is current, but maybe you can try experimenting with some of settings from this?  (But please backup your existing config file before your experiment!).

My DSD file playing setup covers both multi channel and stereo music, all stored on a NAS.  For multi channel music, I am using MinimServer to send DSF files to a Panasonic UB-9000 acting as UPnP Renderer. The UB-9000 converts the DSF file to PCM before sending via HDMI to my Arcam AVR (with Dirac Live enabled).  Note that the SQ of an HDMI link is dependent on the internal clock and to a lesser extent the power supply.  The UB-9000 has a good HDMI implementation and is my benchmark for multi channel music. However, an AVR (even as good as the Arcam) is not good enough for my stereo needs.

For stereo, using MPD which converts the DSF file to PCM before feeding a DSP engine running convolution.

Using USB to feed my Kii Three.

Hope this helps...

Thanks for the tips.  I will try right away.
