roonserver does not install. I wanted to test it. HQplayer is not working either:

Downloading RoonServer_linuxx64.tar.bz2 to /tmp/tmp.ycfaTS1k7v/RoonServer_linuxx64.tar.bz2

/var/tmp/roonserver-installer-linuxx64.sh: line 157:  1863 Segmentation fault      (core dumped) curl -L -# -o "$TMPDIR/$PACKAGE_FILE" "$PACKAGE_URL"

You are far away from the minimum hardware requirements of Roon (and HQplayer).

Ohh min. is i3. Than I am stuck to LMS. No problem, LMS bitperfect (without resampling) and it is free sounds also good to me. All the plugins for LMS are a big pro. And let my dac do the resampling to 192khz.
On audiolinux Roonserver works. So why it is not installing in snakeoil is a question for me.

Main reason is I don't have enough time to troubleshoot. To be frank I can't be spending too much time doing Snakeoil and compromise my day time job.

If you're happy to wait until I have time, eventually I will have the time to find the time to out why Roon server is breaking again. Usually the problem is very simple to fix.

Automating software install doesn't always work, because the latest updates may have changed something that used to work on older versions, but don't any more.

For now, SSH to your Snakeoil computer and install Roonserver (or HQPlayer) manually. Once the software is installed Snakeoil will pick it up automatically.
