I installed snakeoil on my lubuntu; now I can't access it..I guess it's "normal".
Is there any way I can get my ubuntu back because I used to use it for other things too?
When I do startx or xinit to restart it, I get an error.
Is it possible to have both or snakeoil permanently remove the original bone from the machine?
thanks !
I am sorry you are having issues with Lubuntu, but SnakeOil was never designed to be used with Lubuntu nor other Linux versions.  It is also not a standalone application  program that can be installed or uninstalled.

Agent Kith (AK), the only developer of SnakeOil, has only limited bandwidth and can only support Ubuntu and Raspberry Pi Raspbian. Currently, AK is extremely busy with his normal job.

Unfortunately, you will have to recover your system by yourself or re-install Lubuntu yourself. I do not have the Linux knowledge to help.

Just a wild guess from a layman to IT that, maybe side-load the latest fw will help.  Anyway, Good luck, pal.

Although I'm not exactly sure why startx didn't work, but don't have enough information to go on to troubleshoot.

For what it's worth, you can always multi-boot different OS, that's the only way to "have both". You either boot LUbuntu and do your work, or boot to the Snakeoil OS to listen to music.
