Download latest version of Squeezelite R2 from here and untar it
https://sourceforge.net/projects/lmsclie...ite/linux/

Then run the following commands
sudo mv /var/www/players/Squeezelite-R2/squeezelite-R2 /var/www/players/Squeezelite-R2/squeezelite-R2-old
sudo mv squeezelite /var/www/players/Squeezelite-R2/squeezelite-R2

Oh wow - I feel so stupid right about now.. I downloaded squeezelite-2.0.0.1488-x86_64.tar.gz dated 30th May and it worked ! I can live with only having a choice of 1 x SL version.

It was right under my nose. Obviously looking too deep as all the players failed made me think it was a SO problem.. another notch to experience. Still a bit puzzled as to how it worked before then stopped...

@Snoopy8 thank you so much. Really appreciate your suggestion/solution. I had just about given up on it yet it was so simple.

Oh and don't forget to do a chown on the new SL-R2 file, just in case...

No need for that! I only recently discovered this download when I encountered problems with the Pi version not working with the Qobuz plugin and not doing DSD properly. It looked like LMS issues but I took a hunch to try the latest version of Squeezelite. It worked for me, and glad it solved your issue.
