Amazon prime hd and ultra hd music
#1
Apart from chromecasts which can not use Amazon prime hd and ultra hd music to their best ability there is not much else I can cast it to.
imho it is a better alternative to tidal, better navigation, better recommendations.
Wondering if this could be implemented?

Or possibly tidal connect?

LMS apparently supports Tidal (Link). But I havn't tried it myself.

If you setup your Snakeoil as a UPnP renderer, maybe you can send Amazon audio to it? This is not something I'm familiar with unfortunately as I usually just play ripped CDs and SACDs. (I personally find streaming quality sub-par so far and havn't really investigate too deep into them.. Maybe something to add to my TODO list for the  future).

It's just for my family.
I think I will end up getting a Chromecast audio for their purposes

I find lms to be quite laggy.
it never sounds as good as mpd.
I did have tidal set up quite nicely with lumin and Linn kazoo apps but they died out.
Bubbleupnp is good but they removed the Amazon cloud as far as I can tell.
If anyone knows how to do this please let me know

SnakeOil provides music servers and players. And it is these servers and players which can provide the connectivity to various streaming music services. Are you suggesting, in your title of the thread, that SnakeOil change direction and develop its own player to connect to the various streaming services? That would be a radical change!

Not sure why your LMS is laggy, but it works well with Tidal and Qobuz plugins. If anything, LMS will be the most likely community that come up with a plugin for Amazon HD, Apple HD etc. While I prefer Mpd, I am happy to use LMS, with upmdcli, for the streaming services. Nothing that you, nor I nor Agent Kith can do to make Mpd work with streaming services; it is what it is...
