Introduction
Luck, who needs it? I think I do. Unfortunately the transition to Gear Isolation isn't progressing as well as I hope. But heck, life still goes on. Here's another update to Blind Testing, and as always, it's one step closer to the ideal audiophile OS.
This update fixes some bugs.
The past two releases, we are focused on enabling native DSD streaming via USB DACs. Really, the whole UI is catered to make a specific chipset COMBO384 to behave. If your DAC have this receiver, and you know the DAC chip is capable of decoding native DSD streams. Please download this update, and use the latest version of the DSD kernel (must be dated 20190414 or later) and test away. Please refer to the Snakeoil Reference Guide Details on how to setup your DAC for native DSD streaming. (Do this at your own risk as an incorrect setting can damage your speakers).
The whole concept of Snakeoil OS is based on the idea - designed by us, defined by you. With Snakeoil OS you have full administrator access to tweak Snakeoil to your heart's contents. This is a double edged sword and the audio quality can go both ways - from sublime to shit. The upside is obvious, you can tailor Snakeoil OS to do what you want, exactly the way you like. Finally, you can listen to music, your way!

- Native DSD setup was hit and miss in U4 (known as a race condition). Have tweaked the native DSD kernel so your custom DSD configuration should always works now. Please update to the a DSD kernel dated 20190415 and above to get this to work properly.
- USB powering off was not working under certain conditions. This is now fixed. All your old changes are gone, so please reconfigure your USB port status and click Save after the update
- Read the changelog below for more.
- Qobuz and Tidal integration for MPD. As I am not streaming online music, honestly I have no idea how to set this up properly. So please report and let me know how it goes. Refer to the Snakeoil Reference Guide for setup details. Scroll down till you see the Tidal and Qobuz sections.
- Replaced MPD 0.21.7 with 0.21.8.
- Again, read the changelog below for more.
