Hot on the heels of 0.1.4, we are now releasing a sneak preview of the next Snakeoil firmware. Firmwares are for people who have already installed the Snakeoil OS on their computer. If you havn’t yet, go here to download the latest ISO as of this writing: 0.1.4 (Cryo Treatment). Download and install it to your computer, then apply the 0.1.5-pre-release firmware.
Announcing the first beta for 0.1.5 (Dated 20160612) [Click to download]
The most significant update of this beta is multi-lingual support. The introduction of this feature gave us the perfect opportunity to clean up the English version and rid it of obvious spelling mistakes and other errors.
The second significant change is all 32 bit players have been updated and rebuilt against ALSA 1.0.28 now (the same version used in 64 bit). The 64 bit edition sound amazing in my home, so hopefully this change will carry over to the 32 bit edition.
Now that Snakeoil supports other languages, we need your help to translate the Snakeoil web interface to your native language. Please post a comment in the beta thread if you can help out. Hit the forums to download this beta now (and check out the detail changelog).
And last but not least, The Snakeoil Squad also needs your help to promote Snakeoil! If you think Snakeoil is the best sounding system so far, if you think Snakeoil is the easiest Linux Operating System you have ever used, please promote it and spread the name of Snakeoil amongst your peers (i.e. social group). Help and install Snakeoil on your mate’s audio system. At the bottom of every blog post and thread is a widget that allows you to share the content you’re currently reading on your social media. Other things you can do is to sign up to the forums and post your testimonial, or better yet do so on other sites.
