cyclictest -t4 -p 80 -N -i 10000 -l 10000 -q
I get this: FATAL: Couldn't initialize libnuma
Have I made a mistake somewhere in my install?
*Thank you AK for 1.4! No.. It's a problem on Snakeoil end... cyclictest somehow cannot initisalise libnuma in Raspberry Pi for some reason. Will need to research on that one as I am pretty sure cyclictest was working before.

For now I am trying my best to rid the API backend of this library called cpprestsdk and replacing it with Qt (this is not as easy as i thought)... Once that is done will look into these two issues.

FYI, I've installed 1.4.0 for the first time yesterday.
Background is, I was using NUC10, Ubuntu 22.04 LTS RT kernel, SO 1.3.x, "player" is "Roon Server" only, the music files is in a local SSD, and mounting a NAS drive with NFS for regularly syncing the music files only.
Firstly, I directly installed the 1.4.0 on this system. It works.
Secondly, I upgraded Ubuntu 22.04 to 24.04 LTS, SO still works.
Thirdly, I install the .deb again, as expected, it works.
Thanks AK again.
It's just pity that, as I installed new opamp in less than a month ago, the system is still burn-in and turning. So this time I can't really tell the change in the sound as before.

My setup is now fully running SO 1.4 on Ubuntu 24.04, using CPUset and my own RT kernels. The first NUC is running LMS 9.0.1. The second NUC is running Squeezelite V2.0.0-1507 and CamillaDSP V3 (which I hope will come standard with 1.4.1?) running convolution DSP.
There may be a slight improvement with sound quality (???) with SO 1.4 and Ubuntu 24.04, but I am unable to compare it side by side with SO 1.3, Ubuntu 22.04. I am delighted that the system is stable, bugs will be fixed and SO will continue to improve. Welcome back, Agent Kith!

Interesting, I suspect it's due to some weird cache issue but I wonder why a fresh install would do this. Will also investigate this. Preparing a Pi5 to lend my friends. This problem has gone away.
However, have this when I tried to start Roon Bridge
Code: **** 2025-01-19T14:40:30
**** RoonBridge
Start Player: cd /var/www; /var/www/players/RoonBridge/init /var/www/players/RoonBridge 2>&1;/var/www/players/RoonBridge/start /var/www/players/RoonBridge 2>&1;

I'm a happy newcomer to Snakeoil 1.4 as of last weekend!
I have transitioned from a tweaked Squeezebox Touch which connected to my Gieseler DAC via its Amanero384 USB board, with a fresh Rpi5 8GB now controlling the show.
This was my first time playing around with Ubuntu and there were a few hiccups along the way, even with my cluey 16 year old son by my side, - for some reason, manually entering some commands didn't work... however if I copied and pasted directly from the first post in this thread, they worked fine.
- being spoiled by the glossy exterior of Windows, and other user interfaces for streaming software which doesn't require you to get your hands dirty, I wasn't across the basics regarding accessing Snakeoil and subsequently LMS via the web browser (as I'd only ever used the iPeng app to access LMS for a very, very long time)
- I was struggling to select the correct options to enable either the LMS/Squeezelite web broswer or iPeng to view my network-based files and play music. Through sheer luck and fiddling around, I got to the bottom of it. I can't recall exactly how I did this though.
I must thank @ Snoopy8 for his help on the stereonet forum that we both frequent - he patiently responded to my messages and held my hand.
In terms of sound quality, Snakeoil 1.4 and Ubuntu 22.04 with the real time kernel is a clear step up over the Logitech Touch - a cleaner and blacker background and very articulate. Colour me impressed!
As a first-timer who struggled to get my head around the process, even with the walk-through in the first post, I think it is worth investigating updating the WIKIs and walk-throughs to include additional background information or update existing information to provide a whole-of-solution approach - particularly if we are to encourage people to get on board this wonderful software. I fear that the "barrier to entry" may be too high for rookies, and this is affecting uptake vs other options which are easier to install yet potentially offer less flexibility and inferior sound quality to Snakeoil.
I'm not savvy enough to assist with writing any of this, but I'd be only too happy to review and provide feedback on any guides produced through the eyes of a recent new user.
Food for thought anyway, and once again, a big thanks to @ Snoopy8 and of course the main man, @ agent_kith
