Spotify has changed to a repository method - so I've moved this as an install in Snakeoil OS. Please upgrade to firmware 1.0.7 or above, and then go into the Snakeoil OS menu, and install Spotify.

I'm not seeing an option to install Spotify after upgrading to 1.0.7 and rebooting. Where should I be looking exactly? Thanks for adding this!

The option is in the Snakeoil page. It'd be a list of checkboxs and software names - tick means installed, no tick equals not installed or uninstall.

Hi Kith, I have try this checkbox, but apparently there is a problem of source.list, keys and/or repository (i think, but i am not a specialist...), here is the copy paste of the installation report:

Can you verify if you can access these sites from your other computers on the network?
- ch.archive.ubuntu.com
- security.ubuntu.com
- repository.spotify.com
Check your DNS setup and make sure everything works. If it does it's likely there is a firewall blocking access?

YES! My problems of repository resolving was solved by comeback to "DHCP" option instead "static" in network configuration page, then DNS parameters was automaticaly corrected... Thanks for your suggestion about ethernet configuration mistake. It was weird because i continued to have access to the player and able to used it trough my local network.
Afterward, i needed to connect by SSH and type an "sudo apt-get -f install" to have all is necessary to install the differents modules. I can use the tick boxes with success after this process.
For the time being, i use TIDAL with "upmpdcli" and it works perfectly with "Mconnect" on my android smarthone as control point. No need to add any "tidal upmpdcli" module apparently (but maybe it is included in your installation process by tick box?)
Many thanks again for your nice distribution, i am not disappointed at all to have contributed a little bit for that, well done!

When you use static IP address you always need to specify the DNS field and gateway in there. Both these fields are required to get access to the Internet.

Hi, I get the following message when trying to install the spotify client:
*** ERROR *** Uploaded file is not meant for your CPU
Pardon my ignorance, but why is that?

Pardon my ignorance, but why is that? The module is for 64 bit systems. You are either running a 32 bit edition of Snakeoil, or Pi.
There is an easier way now. If you are already on 1.1.8 (Blind Testing U8), just install Spotify Connect from the snakeoil menu. Refer to this wiki article on how to install, and how to remotely connect to the virtual desktop.

Hi agent_kith
Many thanks for the quick response. I am indeed running the 32 bit version. I tried to install 64 bit but despite several attempts it wouldn’t accept my usb ‘live cd’.
Haven’t yet updated the firmware to 1.1.8 so will do that. Do I understand you right that the Spotify client will work for 32 bit in 1.1.8?
Cheers
