This is a big thank you to everyone who are using the Snakeoil Operating System as their primary computer audio player. Your continual support is very encouraging!

My apologies that I was somewhat pre-occupied lately. The economy in my country is not doing well at all right now. I’m no longer working in the oil and gas industry and am currenting working in a different field and role. While I will miss the academic and scientific nature of my previous job (and friends), I am happy to say I’m now working my dream job.  And it wouldn’t happen if not for this Snakeoil project.

Yes, I’m now working in the Audio Visual industry!

Last week is when I finish my probation period, and with a long christmas break coming, in theory I should have more time on my hands soon. Having said that my focus for now will still be on improving myself for the new professional role. There are many things for me to learn, and I am soaking them up like a sponge.

Rest assured what I am learning professionally will become very useful for the future of the Snakeoil project. This ultimately results in a better technical direction for the Snakeoil project - a better user interface with an even better sound quality.

Personally I am encouraged and humbled by the continuing growth in user visits to the Snakeoil web site. While still modest in numbers, this traffic is acheived by litttle to no promotion. On a personal level I am happy to see (most) people are open minded enough to try something with the word Snakeoil in it. 

Finally, another piece of good news. Thanks to the donations received so far, we finally have collected enough funds to sign up up for a 3 year contract with a different web hosting company that’s less stringent on space restrictions. What this means is I can host all the Snakeoil resources (ISOs and firmwares) in a single location (instead of spreading it around google drive, etc). This move is easier for me, and easier on you guys too.

Wouldn’t be able to do all this without you guys, so thanks again. I am indeed humbled and here’s looking forward to the next release.!
