Snakeoil OS build 1.0.0 is finally finished and released. It took about 5 months of development (including nearly 2 months of testing). The decision to abandon the 0.1.x code base and rewrite everything for Ubuntu 16.04 LTS is a brave decision, and a crazy decision too.

Snakeoil OS 0.1.x is based on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS, and it is getting long in the tooth.

As softwares like MPD and Squeezelite evolve, the libraries contained within this specific version of Ubuntu cannot keep up (it's a lot hard to get the new versions to work on 12.04).

Snakeoil OS began as an "image" of my Linux music machine as of Feb 29 2016, and unleashed into the Internet on the very same day.
